Welcome to the Fall 2014 W.C.S.U. Men's Rugby website!

The 2014 Fall Rugby Season is upon us and there are some big changes this year!

First, for the first time in 17+ years WCSU Rugby has a new coach. Coach Bill SanGiacomo has decided to move on from WCSU and become the new Head Coach for the Danbury Mad Hatters Men's Rugby club. Congrats Coach Bill!!

Coach Bill and Coach John O'Neill started together coaching WCSU in 1996-97. They were very instrumental in putting WCSU Men's rugby on the map and helped to bring the club to numerous NERFU, and Northeast championships as well as an appearance in the Div. III Final four. The last 5 years Bill has been assisted by DJ Bullock who was extremely helpful filling the shoes of Coach John when he left the coaching ranks.
You will all be missed, your endless passion and commitment on the pitch to WCSU Men's Rugby cannot, and will never be replaced.

Now we would like to introduce the new Coach for the WCSU Men's Rugby team, Tom Brewer.

Tom has been involved for most of his adult life in the sport of Rugby. He started his collegiate rugby career at UCONN. From there he had a brief stint in Hartford before moving the NY area where he played a majority of his playing career with Old Blue. He played many times on the NERFU and MET select side teams in 15's rugby, and was selected to numerous all-star 7's teams. That culminated with being part of the Old Blue 7's National Championship team in 1993, and then being selected to the USA Eagle's 7's team and had the opportunity to compete vs. New Zealand.

Lately Tom has been instrumental with helping to start a team at Ridgefield High which is coming off a very successful first full year.

Tom has a wealth of knowledge we are very happy he is now a part of the WCSU Men's rugby program. A new chapter is starting at Western, we should all be very excited for it.

We would like to have people's input as to what they would like to see out of the club, it's alumni, parents of present and former players, and the school. Go to the "Sign our Guestbook" section or email us at wcsurfc@gmail.com

IT SHOULD BE A GREAT 2014 FALL SEASON!!!

Also you will need to fill out your school club registration info as well as your CIPP form.

WCSU RFC is part of the D2 union called NEWCRC. The New England Wide Collegiate Rugby Coference (www.newcrc.org) is an independent Div II & III collegiate conference for both Men's and Women's rugby. A large number of Div. II & III schools from NERFU and Met NY have migrated to this conference as it lines up better with the goals of USA Rugby.

Once the fields are open practice is Tues, Wed, Thurs, nights at the West Side Campus from 7-9pm.

If you are a player please go to the Team page and then go to CIPP & School Club Registration. Bring all these forms filled out to practice!!!
